The Hx6 Doesn't Power a VSet

Updated by Johnny Goldsmith

Scope

This document covers why a VSet will not boot up when connected directly to an Hx6.

Description

A customer writes in that their VSet6 doesn't boot up when setting up their Hx6 talkshow system.

Reason

The VSet is powered by Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). This requires that you have a PoE-enabled switch or that you use an in-line PoE injector.

Simply put, plugging the VSet into the port on the back of the Hx6 does not supply any power to the VSet.

Solution

If you're not using a PoE-enabled switch of any kind, you will need to use a PoE injector.

If you would like to order a PoE injector, contact Customer Support and ask for pricing and availability of part # 2091-00139-000.

When using a PoE injector, make sure you connect the data+power port on the injector into the VSet6.
