Backing up your Program Delay Manager (PDM) configuration

Updated by Bryan Jones

Scope

This document applies to all versions of the 25-Seven Program Delay Manager.

Description

Customers will often ask if there is a way to backup and restore a configuration from a PDM. While there are no facilities specifically for this task, you can obtain the configuration files simply by downloading the current set of system logs.

You can find the steps to download a current set of logs in this document.

Finding your config files

As noted in the previous document, the logs package is just a zipped file.

Once you have unzipped the file, the archive folder will have a folder in it called/etc. Located in that folder you will find the file called pdm257.conf. You can open this file with any text editor.

Note that at this point the files are un-encrypted. There could be sensitive password information stored in clear text in this file (for your email, as an example). If this is a concern for you, we suggest you scrub this file prior to sending it to anyone where this might be a problem.

While there is no way to upload these files to restore a backup, this is one method where you can obtain and store the current set of configurations. It can be used to manually rebuild the configuration at a later time if required.
