Question

How does one reset a forgotten password on an Axia PowerStation?

Answer

Here is the instructions to reset:

In general, the Axia PowerStation has two user accounts. There is 'admin' and 'user'. If you have assigned any password for the 'admin' account and cannot remember, please go to the end of this document.

Clearing password using the build-in web server.

  1. Access the web interface, select the Setup page
  2. Navigate to the setup page and select change the password for the user.

By selecting the change button without adding any text, the field should restore the default of no password.
** CAUTION ** When you logged in as admin, while you can change the admin password there is no mechanism to change that if forgotten.  If the admin password is changed and forgotten the entire unit would need to be factory reset. We recommend NOT changing the admin password.

Clearing password using the connected Element/Fusion Frame.

In case you have assigned any password for the 'admin' account and cannot remember anymore, you can use the connected Element/Fusion Console Frame to change the 'user' account password. The 'admin' account password cannot be changed in general and if forgotten the entire unit would need to be factory reset. We recommend NOT changing the admin password.
