Can I Encode Dolby Digital or PLII into a Dolby E Stream?

An AC-3 file (Dolby Digital) will not be recognized by a Dolby E encoder as the specification calls for PCM audio; that said, AC-3 metadata can be transferred in the Dolby E stream. Because Pro Logic II files are stereo PCM files, they can be encoded and transmitted using Dolby E.
