Properly Grounding a Voltair

Updated 3 weeks ago by Johnny Goldsmith

Scope

This document applies to the 25-Seven Voltair, but also holds true for the 25-Seven TVC-15 Watermark Analyzer & Monitor as well.

Grounding Lug

As many of our manuals indicate, "(each piece of equipment) must be connected to a grounded metal permanent wiring system or other equipment grounding conductor."

The Voltair has a ground lug on its rear panel for proper grounding.

For ground sources, we recommend, in order of preference:

  1. “Station Ground,” the heavy copper strap found in the walls and floors of many radio studios
  2. AC Safety Ground — the “3rd prong” of a nearby outlet
  3. A bonded electrical conduit
#12 AWG GREEN stranded wire is the minimum wire gauge acceptable for grounding Telos Alliance branded equipment.
