SurCode: Compressor 3 Outputs Empty File
Scope
This article outlines a fix for a common problem when using SurCode Encoder for DTS-HD for Compressor on Mac OSX after the year 2020.
Problem
SurCode Encoder for DTS-HD (SDHC) stops working in Compressor 3, and outputs a file with zero bytes when run.
Solution
This issue is related to the Apple API. SDHC will not process DTS streams; the loading bar idles. So far this has only happened in out-of-spec systems running OS X versions higher than 10.6.8. The client will need to roll back their system clock to 2020 to resolve the problem.
