VX Won't Pass the "+" Symbol (E.164 Compliance)

Updated by Eric Hufford

Problem

The VX Enterprise or VX Prime Plus running firmware 1.1.0.3 or earlier does not properly register to PBXs or providers that conform to the E.164 standard.

This is caused by registration strings that convert the "+" symbol to "%2B". For example, "+12162417225" is sent as "%2B12162417225", resulting in a failed registration attempt.

Solution

This issue was addressed and fixed in a later release of firmware. At the time this article was written (May 2022), the latest release is 1.3.1, and can be found here.
