Providing Backup Power to a QOR Engine

Updated by Johnny Goldsmith

Scope

This document covers how to provide backup power to a QOR.16 or QOR.32 Engine.

To provide redundant power, either an Axia Console Power Supply unit (2001-00375) or an Axia Console Backup Power Supply (2001-00277) is required.

Both of these PSU units look exactly the same and are the same size as a QOR.16.

Providing Backup Power

When purchased new, each of these supplies ships with a D-Sub to D-sub 3-foot power cable.

If a new cable is needed because it's been misplaced, contact Customer Support and ask for the price and availability of 1711-00266-100.

On the back of the power supply, the 48VDC OUTPUT is clearly labeled.

On the back of the QOR engine, the 48VDC INPUT is clearly labeled.

Simply tightly secure each end of the power cable and the backup supply is now adding redundant power with automatic switching to the QOR-console system.

Alternatively, a PowerStation Aux can also be used to provide redundant power to a QOR engine. The extra I/O that is included in an Aux unit cannot, however, be integrated into a QOR-based system.
