Interfacing an xNode and Infinity System with Pliant CrewCom
Scope
To interface your Pliant CrewCom Control Unit with your Infinity system, you will need to connect the I/O from the CrewCom to the xNode. This can be done either with the RJ-45 connectors on the xNode, or the DB-25 connector.
Method 1: RJ-45
Here is the pinout from the CrewCom 4-Wire RJ-45 connector:
And here is the pinout from an Analog xNode:
Because the xNode's I/O are discrete as opposed to be on one connector like on the Pliant device, you will need to split the cable coming from the CrewCom so that is connects to Input 1 and Output 1 on the xNode.
An example pinout for the xNode Input looks like this:
Pliant Pin | xNode Input |
Pin 3 (Output +) | Pin 1 (Input +) |
Pin 6 (Output -) | Pin 2 (Input -) |
An example pinout for the xNode Output looks like this:
Pliant Pin | xNode Output |
Pin 4 (Input +) | Pin 1 (Output +) |
Pin 5 (Input -) | Pin 2 (Output -) |
Here is a drawing of what a finished RJ-45 cable might look like:
Method 2: DB-25
Like the RJ-45 ports on the xNode, the DB-25's are discrete. You will need to use both DB-25 connectors if you want bidirectional audio with the Pliant CrewCom system
Here is the pinout in relation to the xNode’s DB-25 connector. This assumes a mono connection to the xNode:
xNode DB-25 Inputs
Pliant Port and Pin | xNode Port Pin |
Port 1/ Pin 3 | Input 1 + / Pin 24 |
Port 1/ Pin 6 | Input 1 - / Pin 12 |
Port 2/ Pin 3 | Input 2 + / Pin 10 |
Port 2/ Pin 6 | Input 2 - / Pin 23 |
Port 3/ Pin 3 | Input 3 + / Pin 21 |
Port 3/ Pin 6 | Input 3 - / Pin 9 |
Port 4/ Pin 3 | Input 3 +/ Pin 7 |
Port 4/ Pin 6 | Input 3 - / Pin 20 |
xNode DB-25 Outputs
Pliant Port and Pin | xNode Port Pin |
Port 1/ Pin 4 | Output 1 + / Pin 24 |
Port 1/ Pin 5 | Output 1 - / Pin 12 |
Port 2/ Pin 4 | Output 2 + / Pin 10 |
Port 2/ Pin 5 | Output 2 - / Pin 23 |
Port 3/ Pin 4 | Output 3 + / Pin 21 |
Port 3/ Pin 5 | Output 3 - / Pin 9 |
Port 4/ Pin 4 | Output 4 + / Pin 7 |
Port 4/ Pin 5 | Output 4 - / Pin 20 |
