Description

Are additional licenses that have been added preserved when switching the MPX Node between Encoder and Decoder mode?

Question/Issue

Q: If you have bought an MPX Node encoder with an additional 2 stream license, for example, and you switch the encoder for a short time to a decoder, will the 2 stream license still be there when you switch the unit back from decoder to encoder?

Answer/Solution

A: Yes. I changed my encoder unit (which has a "4 additional streams" license) to a decoder and back again. I could see that license in the System Setup screen even while it was in Decoder mode. And all streams were present once it was back in Encoder mode.
