Enabling DHCP from the MPX Node front panel

Updated by Geoff Steadman

Scope:

This article addresses cases where a static IP Address has been assigned to Net1, but you may be on a different subnet and need to switch to DHCP so you can get an IP address assigned and log in.

Description:

  • You can switch to DHCP from the front panel Net1 interface by navigating to the Net1 screen and pressing the lower front panel button for 8-10 seconds. You will then get a screen where you can enter network address information.
  • Set the IP address to all zeros (000.000.000.000) then toggle down to save (you only have to set the IP address, not the subnet or gateway). Upon reboot, Net1 should be in DHCP mode.
  • This procedure only works for Net1, and not Net2.
