Enabling DHCP from the MPX Node front panel

Updated by Geoff Steadman

This article addresses cases where a static IP Address has been assigned to Net1, but you may be on a different subnet and need to switch to DHCP so you can get an IP address assigned and log in.

  • You can switch to DHCP from the front panel Net1 interface by navigating to the Net1 screen and pressing the lower front panel button for 8-10 seconds. You will then get a screen where you can enter network address information.
  • Set the IP address to all zeros ( then toggle down to save (you only have to set the IP address, not the subnet or gateway). Upon reboot, Net1 should be in DHCP mode.
  • This procedure only works for Net1, and not Net2.
